Committees are at the center of the life of the congregation. Committees make things happen.
Committees are where we move from talking about doing to doing.

Social Action Clearing House

The mission of the SAC is to support the congregation and its members as they work to achieve social justice and peace in accordance with Unitarian Universalist Principles.  The Committee supports church-wide projects that include: BRIDGE, UUs for Affordable Housing, UUs for Social Justice and cooking for Our Daily Bread.  Additional projects are funded by the Seven Principles Social Justice Fund, a bequest set aside for use of the SAC.  SAC awards small grants from this fund to members’ and friends’ projects.  In 2005, SAC initiated “Change for Change”, giving half the undesignated weekly collection to local and national charitable organizations.  In 2007, our church began a partnernship with another church to host homeless guest families through the Baltimore Interfaith Housing Network.

It also develops materials to support the stewardship, canvass and fundraising activities.
