Ours is a faith that recognizes ambiguity and change.
Therefore, our faith journey is one that takes a lifetime.
We take parts of the journey alone, but we understand the importance of
community in addressing the questions the universe asks us.
We gather as a community to find spiritual renewal and to support the work of
making peace, bringing justice, and deepening our faith.

Adult Education -
Journeys of the Mind and Spirit
We encourage members to take classes in
Unitarian
Universalist history, principles, and theology as well as wisdom from other
world religions and critical issues
facing
our society today. An array of programs - from classes to open forums to
small groups and informal discussions - reflects the diversity and interests of
our congregation.
Chair:
Doreion Colter
Two or three times a year, we conduct a four-session class for people interested in learning more about the church and Unitarian Universalism - an excellent place to begin if you are contemplating membership. Each series concludes with a potluck dinner with the ministers' home. Contact: Church Office

Choir
Join the Choir and enjoy singing on Sundays and special occasions.
Our choir
provides anthems, leads the congregation in songs from our hymnal, and sometimes
gives us the gift of a solo rendition. They also produce an original Cabaret,
one of the most entertaining events of the year. The choir claims to be the
group that has the most fun, but you'll have to find that out for yourself.

Covenant Groups
Conversations about things that matter, things that go below the surface, are central to Covenant Groups. They provide mutual encouragement and support as we deepen our spiritual journeys. A group can revolve around a topic/category or not. Our Covenant Groups include: Men, Doers, Women, and Christian. The only requisite in forming a Covenant Group is identifying several people who would like to participate. Contact: Our Ministers
Dream Group
A lay group for those interested in exploring the meaning of their dreams,
the Dream Group has been meeting continuously since 1987. Our dreamwork model is
based on the educational and literary work of
Rev. Jeremy Taylor.
We
meet twice each month: the first Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in members' homes; and the
third Sunday after services in the Parish Hall, 12:30-2:30 p.m.

Interweave
Part social, part political, part educational, and part religious and
spiritual, Interweave is an informal group of First Unitarian congregants who
represent and support the ideas and issues of concern to members of our
congregation who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered, and their allies
and friends. Interweave accomplishes its mission through a changing array of
interests, both inside and outside the congregation, including hosting and
co-sponsoring special events, supporting local lobbying and activist
organizations, and providing leadership for the June Pride service at our
church.
