(Saturdays, 12-3:30pm; Sept. 22, Oct. 13, Nov. 17, and Dec. 15): In this monthly potluck & guided discussion for youth and adults, we will discuss current films and how they relate to our UU principles. Please come prepared with an appetizer (A-J), main dish (K-S), or dessert (T-Z) for our potluck lunch!
November's film: "Religulous" (2008) takes a pilgrimage across the globe on a mind-opening journey into the ultimate taboo: questioning religion. Meeting the high and low from different religions, Maher simply asks questions, like "Why is faith good?" "Why doesn't an all-powerful God speak to us directly?" and "How can otherwise rational people believe in a talking snake?" For anyone who's even a little spiritually curious, this divine entertainment will deepen your faith...in comedy! November will also feature a simultaneous film for kids: Toy Story 2! So feel free to bring your kids and join in watching either film. Location: First Floor Classrooms |
