Celebration Of Life "No Education, No Life: It Matters!" ( 11:00 am - 12:00 - noon )
Kaylah Blake and members of the Baltimore Algebra Project

The Baltimore Algebra Project is a democratic, student-run and organized program mainly focused on the one-on-one tutoring of math at the middle and high school levels. Our mission is to carve a community of leaders as well as exhibit leadership while remaining committed to the education of those in need of advancements in their socio-economic status.

Celebration Of Life "Happy (Belated) Birthday, Charles Darwin!" ( 11:00 am - 12:00 - noon )
Rev. David Carl Olson

Citing the thoughts of Rev. Dr. W. Waldemar W. Argow, minister of First Unitarian between 1940 and 1959, the current holder of that position reflects on our reliance on science, inquiry and evidence in shaping a faith for our time.

Celebration Of Life--"It Matters What We Worship" ( 11:00 am - 12:00 - noon )
Rev. David Carl Olson preaching

Rev. Dr. Jacqueline J. Lewis says, “I am convinced that the strongest defense against the virulent racial/ethnic tensions in our nation is the development of multiracial, multicultural communities of faith.” First Unitarian is blessed with a multi-ethnic and multi-racial congregation, and is working to become a more culturally diverse congregation in our practices. Our Minister shares his optimism about our work to be a whole people on a journey together—toward transformation.

The weekly religious service where we consider things of ultimate worth. A program of music and hymns, readings and preaching, meditation and prayer. All ages are welcome--with a special area for families with young children. A quiet time precedes the service at 10:40 a.m., with the opening words of the Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 a.m. This one-hour service takes place in our historic Sanctuary.
