Celebration Of Life "Generations Of Love" ( 10:00 am - 11:00 am )
Rev. David Carl Olson
A congregation can be a place where people can have deep experiences with those who are not in their biological families. We build a community of confidence where values are shared and people without children accept some responsibility for the nurture of other people’s children. Some say that this is the way that humanity will be saved.

Celebration Of Life ( 10:00 am - 11:00 am )
Rev. David Carl Olson
Cornell West says, “Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public.” The Social Action Clearinghouse brings together leaders of our social action efforts in many areas, and acts as a great resource of volunteer activity and connectional wisdom. The Kinn Trust Oversight Team provides money resources to fund work in favor of education and combatting extreme poverty. Our Poverty and Homelessness Ministry helps focus and galvanize congregational participation in a broad program of social justice education, action and reflection around homelessness in Baltimore City. These three institutions evidence the health and capacity of our congregation to embody a key principle affirmed by Unitarian Universalism. For this, we are all grateful and proud.

Celebration Of Life "Building And Sustaining Beloved Community" ( 10:00 am - 11:00 am )
Rev. David Carl Olson
Legendary gadfly Saul Alinsky used to say that, “Power is organized people plus organized money.” Unitarian Universalists sometimes argue that ours is a dis-organized religion! But is it true? Aren’t we really a people who love this community of ours and spend a great deal of time and talent supporting it—and organizing its work and aspirations? Don’t we show our love for this congregation—a history, a home, a hope—through our talent and treasure? Isn’t it a blessing so to do?
