As a part of the First Unitarian Youth Group, our middle and high school youth help one another find their individual paths as young Unitarian Universalists. Youth Group emphasizes a close-knit circle of friends, who look forward to checking in with one another weekly and who share in small group ministry, moving towards the bridge from youth to young adulthood. Our Youth Group advisors facilitate and offer curriculum that is based on the UUA’s Tapestry of Faith curriculum, but are also flexible to the Youth Group’s own expressed interests and goals. As a Youth Group, we aim to connect our First U experience to the wider Unitarian Universalist community by encouraging participation in UU sponsored Youth Conferences (Cons).
We will begin the fall of 2016 with the “Sharing the Journey” curriculum. The Youth Group meets in a downstairs classroom at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings before services.
