In this monthly potluck and guided discussion for youth and adults, we will discuss current films and how they relate to our UU principles. September’s film, “The Soloist” (2009)is an extraordinary and inspiring true story of how a chance meeting can change a life. “The Soloist” tells the poignant, and ultimately soaring tale of a Los Angeles newspaper reporter who discovers a brilliant and distracted street musician and the unique friendship and bond that transforms both their lives. We’ll meet from 4:00-7:00 pm, with movie first and then a potluck dinner. Register online today!
Future Saturday screening dates are: October 13, November 17, and December 15. Please come prepared with an appetizer (A-J), main dish (K-S), or dessert (T-Z). Films will be shown in the first floor RE classrooms. “Amreeka,” “Religulous,” and “Joyeux Noel” will be presented and discussed in the coming months.
This will be a truly All-Church event! Scheduled at the same time, we’ll be showing “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” for kids and families in our first ever pajama party! After our kids’ movie, we’ll be enjoying some games and crafts until “The Soloist” is over and we all join together for our potluck dinner. See you in church, Saturday Sept. 22!
