Terracycle update

by Molly Ruhlman

We have gotten off to a great start on our Terracycle collection! A big thankyou to all who have contributed. If you have not started yet, please take a look at the list below and see what you might be able to begin adding to our collection bins. Our church earns 1 or 2 pennies for each piece of “trash” that we send in (depending on the item). So far we have collected about ten dollars’ worth and kept it all out of the landfill. If we collect more in August than we did in July we earn an extra 10 dollars!

I have learned that we cannot send in any pill or vita- min bottles, and also only flexible packaging (and trig- gers/pumps) in the cleaner collection. That means no bot- tles of cleaning liquids, but only the refill bags such as sold by Method and similar companies, or bags that hold household cleaning wipes. Lastly, I added a brand new collection ‘brigade’ that accepts toothbrushes and tooth- paste tubes! Questions? Email me.
